How to strengthen bones

According to a shocking survey , 30% of people are at a risk of or already suffer Osteoporosis (a condition where a person has week and brittle bones).
Often people ignore taking care of bones until they fall in real sickness. But one must not forget that these are the supporting part for our body.

Calcium is the main factor responsible for the state of the bones. Apart from this calcium is also responsible for other important functions in the body like clotting, sense of touch and pain, etc.
However, if you do not take sufficient Calcium, the body starts fetching it from the bones. This eventually decreases the size of bones and make them brittle. Thus it is very important to include it in a balanced diet.
Calcium is thankfully available in  many common food items such as tofu, cheese, milk , white beans and cereals.

Do Not Drink Water while Standing


It has been 5 years ,I get to hear from some health conscious people ,who say don’t drink water while standing. When I first heard it I just laughed at them. But then it aroused a curiosity in me to find out if there is a little truth behind these cautions.


When I searched it over internet I was surprised to see what mere standing and drinking water could do to you. The three major ill effects that I came across were

Stomach damage : when we stand and drink water, it flows easily and in great volume down the food canal and splashes onto the lower stomach wall. This splash damages the stomach wall and the nearby organs. Long term practice disturbs the digestive system and further causes heart  and kidney problems.

Kidney damage : water intake while standing lets the water pass through kidneys with a push without much filtration. This may cause impurities to gather in the bladder  or in blood. Now kidneys ,bladder and heart are at stake.

Arthritis : if water is taken while standing it disturbs the balance of other body fluids. Ultimately it also affects the joint regions and cause deficiency of required fluids in joints. This results in joint pains known as arthritis.

So make a habit, sit and then drink the water.

Low Mobile battery level risk !!


Most of us are now aware of the ill effects of mobile phone on human health. But do you know that low battery level of your mobile is even more dangerous. You may be wondering what’s this.

It has been proved that during low battery calls , the phone continuously tries to cope up to improve the call quality. In this attempt , it releases high radiation which may prove worse for health. Also low signal strength also makes  mobile release more radiations than normal. 

Some precautions :
  • Try to make calls only when signal strengths are high.
  • Keep your phone charged. If possible keep with yourself an additional fully charged battery.
  • Buy original batteries which are tested for permissive radiation level specifications.
  • Don’t go after cheap mobile phones that imitate more functionality of costly ones.
The last point needs some detailing. Now this is really worthwhile. Initially it may seem that you can save a lot buying cheaper mobile phones which offer almost all functionalities in hardware as provided by the costly phones. Instead your discretion and intelligence is compulsory. The reason being that such mobile makers, in an effort to reduce the part costs do not take care of all the necessary designs and condition tests. These may prove serious for health and sometimes even fatal.

Recently, duplicate Chinese mobile products have been banned in certain parts of Asia after reported accidents. In one of such accidents, the battery exploded while the call was on and it seriously damaged user’s ear eye and face though thankfully he was saved after much effort.

Control Your Anger


Anger is a strong emotion which arises from a strong dislike of a thing or situation. But just like other emotions it normal. This feeling is even expressed by most living creatures. However in humans it has much more significance.

 Instant body effects : Some of the vigorous effects of anger include increased heart beat and blood-pressure , redness of face and eyes ,sweating , shaking of limbs . Other effects include inner movement of eye-brows , wrinkles on forehead , pressure at neck and folding of palms and fingers.

Is it harmful ??
Well !! we definitely are aware that anger can have long lasting effects on relationships . But what about its effect on  health ?
If anger is suppressed within, it can definitely lead to frustration and stress in head which may result in headaches and redness of eyes. Prolonged frustrations and stress ultimately turn into high blood-pressures and psychological imbalance. This again worsens the condition as high blood pressures are harmful for most vital organs such as heart.
Therefore either anger should be expressed out in some positive ways or must be eradicated. There are a plenty of techniques on this. Initially it may seem difficult to work on these but that’s normal as habits cannot be changed at once. And practice will make you perfect !

Ways to control anger :
 
Press your pressure points:  Stress developed due anger is concentrated at some points on our face. These are known  as pressure points . Gently press the points which are at the sides of your skull ,which is in the mid of the horizontal distance  from your eyebrows towards the top of your ears. Another pair is at the lower side of the cheeks. Touch the above pair with your middle fingers and lower one with your thumbs simultaneously.
Observe your body changes : during anger development  try to restrict the body changes such as closing of your palms and fingers and inward movement of eye-brows. This will not only restrict anger from developing, but will also divert your mind.
Start reverse counting : Start counting in reverse. If you find no change start again and so till you succeed.
Take deep breaths : Taking in more air in lungs means lowering your blood pressure and temperature. Quite helpful and you will definitely notice its change.
Have a walk : If you are sitting just stand up and walk away from the place of anger . Likewise if you are at office go to the washroom , stand near the window and look outside.
Use your senses :  Look at some funny pictures around or listen to some soft and light music will help.
Share it : If you have a close friend or a loved one, just share the incident with him/her. This will make you feel light and may help you up with some solution or suggestion. If you are a male, approach a female friend and vice-versa.
